LET’S GO SOLAR NOW!

Our original goal was 100 solar installations in 2016 but we topped 260, making it the most successful program in Massachusetts!  As of February 2024, there were 429 solar sites in town!

While the original designated installer, Direct Energy Solar(DES) on 1/1/21 has rebranded itself as Astrum Solar and has partnered with Omnidian to continue to service existing residential installations, they haven't signed up any new residential installs since 2017.  However, BGS continued with NeighborhoodSolar, working with SunBugSolar for several years.   That discount program has now reopened if you go through Neighborhood Solar to reach Sunbug.  Also, the new federal  Inflation Reduction Act(IRA) and MA Climate Bill were signed in August 2022  which are offering new solar incentives such as an immediate 30% federal Investment Tax Credit.
